(ECNS) -- China's Huawei Technologies Co announced Thursday that it had replaced the legacy ERP system sourced from the U.S. with its MetaERP system over which it has full control.
Huawei held an internal ceremony to celebrate the switch to its own MetaERP in Dongguan, south China’s Guangdong, with its founder Ren Zhengfei and rotating Chairperson Meng Wanzhou in attendance.
At present, MetaERP covers 100 percent of Huawei's business scenarios and 80 percent of its business volume and has gone through tests of monthly, quarterly, and annual settlements with zero failures and zero delays, Huawei said.
According to Tao Jingwen, a Huawei board member and president of its quality, business process and IT management department, Huawei was cut off from the old ERP system and other core operation and management systems in 2019.
"Today we are proud to announce that we have broken through that blockade, we have survived!" said Tao.
Ren expressed his gratitude to partners. “I want to thank our partners who have contributed a lot to our success and are going to help with our development in the future.”
“Though we are behind others in software, we are sure to be stronger someday,” said Ren.
“MetaERP needs joint efforts of Huawei and its partners. Only openness can promote innovation and cooperation brings prosperity," said Meng.
